There is a din round the world that is difficult to drown out, to escape. In a time of instant access, what is real, sustainable, is difficult to tap indeed and not really discovered in the places we may even be looking. The effort it takes to find the subtle and enriching, can be a daunting task in itself.
With voices run amuck, truth is difficult to discern and trust hard to come by. And ironically, those with the most soulful, simple, insights will often be shuffled to the back, well, because they’re simple, quiet, soulful … no rooftop shouting or pomp and circumstance.
It is a glorious thing to be able to connect with friends across continents, gain understanding of the tapestry of cultures and creatives, dreaming as we do. But with experts-a-plenty, programs for every stage of launch and growth, the next fix, subscription, leader-in-the-know, our heads are left spinning and our voice feeling very faint, wavering, and we wondering why we should even bother if we’ll never be heard.
Know - in this - you are not alone. If I had to choose just one thing that was the foundation, the dearest hope, the gem we aim to excavate, within of all my conversations and connections, be they played out in convocation speeches, workshops, coaching sessions, books, retreats … is …
You are your greatest treasure. And while there are wonderous resources that surround you, the innate wisdom within you, that voice, equipped to lovingly whisper the answers to all the questions you could ever ask … is the beginning and end to all you will ever need.
There is a story I deeply love that hits this home …
There is an ancient fable that tells of the gods at the beginning of time sitting around a table discussing the meaning of life and how to make humans diligently work for it so the discovery would have significance.
One god piped up and said, “Put it at the top of the mountain so they have to make the trek.”
“No,” responded another. They’ll just invent helicopters and fly to it, too easily.”
“Okay, put it at the bottom of the ocean,” said another god.
“They’ll just invent the submarine and dive for it,” added yet another.
One of the younger gods, itching to share, but timid, slowly raised her hand and all eyes turn to her.
“Why don’t we hide the meaning of life inside them. They’ll never even think to look there.”
No matter how and who and what we gather to us, we must return again and again to Just a Few Soulful Things to sustain us on the Way.
Still ~
The SoulFull Way, above all else, is about unleashing the mystic in us all, the seeker within desirous of knowing the essence of Love, God, Goddess, Christ, Buddha, Allah, the Great Spirits of land and sea, the Wonder and Light of Being, by whatever name you ascribe - beyond religion and human rules of order. This delicious and precious connection is felt most keenly in the quiet. This quiet can be found as we sit attuned to our breath, wandering amidst the trees, strumming our guitar, tinkling the ivories and myriad ways in which we bring ourselves to home.
We must come to methodical stillness to …
Listen ~
Since I was a child wandering the 20-acres of our farm, solo, whistle around neck should I be in need of mother, waking with the sun, counting caterpillars, tadpoles and horses as my friends, basking beneath my towering oak-friend, I’ve found solace in nature. From trauma to be overcome, to healing, traveling and living in places across the world, I’ve felt a warmth of a whisper, giving me insights on actions I should take and pitfalls to avoid. When I listen life is filled with wonder, desire and an uncanny alignment of understanding and gifts along the way. When I purposely avoid the whispers because I’m afraid, or drown them out with distractions of various forms … I am invited to learn powerful lessons. As I age I see the patterns in life’s precious unfolding. Listening is the heart of the richness of my existence and success. Always. But listening was never enough. I needed to …
Surrender and Follow ~
This trust is the toughest bit. To defy the voices of a thousand loved ones and experts who ‘know better’. To quiet the critic in our heads, to leap even when the only hint of a bridge being there is a tingle of knowing that defies all logic. But when we surrender to our inklings, our instinct, even when fear nips at our heels, the road, the ledge, the path (however faint) appears. With practice we learn that this, this is where the gold lays sparkling, for our gathering. Our choices make sense, if only to us, and that is the only thing that ever mattered, ever will matter.
In the Friend’s ever-revealing, serendipitous way, there is a reason you are reading here. Whether you are seeking affirmation for a decision you’ve just made that may seem mad to the world, but stirs your wild joy - whether you are at the crossroad of decision and have asked for a sign as to whether you take the advice of another or adhere to your own …

The fable you shared really speaks to me. We all came here with a purpose, but over time we tend to forget about it. When we make space for reflection, we rediscover ourselves. It took some time for me to realize that even if I feel my industry is oversaturated, I still have unique experiences to share with the collective that bring power to my voice.
